Gentlemen, I believe Top is right.  I have been looking around at "non gun" sights and have found an interesting source in the U.K. that converts non chambering non firing replicas to light gas.  From pistols to anti tank guns...including most of your favorite WWII weapons... designed to fire on the gas only and expell the sound and flash much like a round would.  I will look further into this.

ok, so if anyone would like a display rack for thier rifle/ pistol let me know and i'll make one up for you as they worked real well for the display and i have plenty of wood kicking around.

how about some pictures. why not build a two racks for m1's and one for carbines and tsmg's for use at events.

top here are a few photo's of some racks i made.

also made a few helmet stands, and pistol rack for the P38.
the knife rack i had that we used for westfeild worked great was able to secure them with old leather boot laces.
